Gentle Story about a serious problem.

Since my son thought my story ideas were too dark and depressing, I went with a more kid-friendly approach. Now that I had the story, I needed materials. First stop: Goodwill. I bought a "Yoga Barbie" thinking she would work because of her flexibility. Wrong. She was too tall and even with shoes made of museum putty, she couldn't stand up. She fell over as soon as I took the photo.

Next stop: Walmart. I bought a character named Blippie. He didn't work either. He was supposed to be 'bendable' but his arms were too short and his head is like a bowling ball, throwing off his center of mass over his base of support (ski lingo). I did make a movie with him, and learned a lot in the process. 1. Slow down and make the movements more deliberate. 2. Stick with the original story instead of trying to fill the time with the discarded 'too dark' storylines. 3. Have a definite ending in mind, and stick to it. 4. Try not to get my fingers in the shots.

Here is Blippie's set.
